Technical features of Bearings

Most of bearings in addition to have a main number which shows type, size and dimensions, they have a suffix which indicates a special feature in bearing’s internal or external design. These signs and their meaning do not follow a special standard and they indicated by the manufacturer directly. Here, we mention some famous and popular suffixes:

AC: a 25° contact angle in ball bearings with 2 angular contact points

AS: holes for lubricating in external ring of needle roll bearings (the extra digits refers to number of holes)

B2: external integrated edge in external ring of conical roll bearing that begins with K

C: row 7000, contact angle 15° in ball bearings with single angular contact

CA: machined cage made from brass that centered to internal ring

A: primary load in Moment of inertia – in angular contact ball bearing

CA: little axial clearance- in angular contact ball bearing with deep groove

CB: axial clearance more than CA- in angular contact ball bearing with deep groove

CC: axial clearance more than CB- in ball bearing with deep groove

CG: zero clearance (in conical roll bearing)

GB: primary load more than GA (in ball bearing with deep groove)

DF: 2 ball bearing with deep groove or angular contact or conical roll bearing that used in front of each other to keep axial loads.

A: grease amount lower than standard level

B: grease amount more than standard level

C: grease amount more than B (completely full)

J/: vibration lower than normal level in internal ring (set of ring with roller and shelf) conical roll bearing that begins with B

JA: pressed shelf of not hard facing steelthat centralized on external ring

K: conical internal ring with slop 1:12

K30: conical internal ring with slop 1:30

M: brass machined shelf: its different types upon material and design, indicated by a number

MA:  brass machined shelf, centralized on external ring

MAS: brass machined shelf, centralized on external ring and have lubricating grooves

MB: brass machined shelf, centralized on internal ring

MBS: brass machined shelf, centralized on internal ring and have lubricating grooves

MP: brass machined shelf with bore and ream centralized on external or internal ring

N: there is a key in external ring of bearing

NR: key place in external ring of bearing (for axial fix of bearing)

N1: a gap in external edge of out ring for radial fix of bearing

N2: 2 symmetric gaps relative to diameter, in external edge of out ring for radial fix of bearing

P4: precision in rotation and dimension upon class 4 of ISO standard more precise that P5

P6) P4A\: precision in dimension upon class 4 of ISO standard and precision in rotation upon class 9AFBMA

P5: precision in rotation and dimension upon class 5 of ISO standard

P6: precision in rotation and dimension upon class 6 of ISO standard

P52\:P5 + C2: some samples of different classes combination of P

P62\:P6+C2: for precision increasing in single-digit classes of C

P63\: P6 + C3: for internal clearance

Qe5: a little vibration

RS: a rubber seal in one side, a seal of polyurethane or synthetic rubber, with a steel reinforcing sheet

RS1: a rubber seal in one side of ball bearing, include of a steel washer that coating by a vulcanized rubber

RS2: a RS seal type at both sides of bearing

RZ2: a RZ seal type at both sides of bearing

TA: a shelf of reinforced phenolic resin, with glass fiber 6/6

TB: a shelf of reinforced phenolic resin, centralized on internal ring

TH: a shelf of reinforced phenolic resin

TN: a rubber shelf that injected into bearing by casting method. The designs and different materials with different numbers are indicated by extra numbers

V: bearing without shelf, full of rolling parts

VA301: bearing for tensional engines

W20\: 3 lubricating holes in external ring of bearing

W26\:  6 lubricating holes in external ring of bearing

W33\: one groove and 3 lubricating holes in external ring of bearing

Z2: a Z steel washer in both sides of bearing

ZN-: Z+N, a steel washer in one side and a key place in opposite side

ZNR: Z+N, a steel seal in key place side
